Creative Arts Competition inspired by Illuminating Hadrian’s Wall
Does your school or college want to be part of a once in a lifetime event?
We’re launching a competition with cash prizes for the best creative and artistic response inspired by the Illuminating Hadrian’s Wall event.
Entries could take the form of performing or visual arts, creative writing or broadcast journalism. We are interested in seeing a broad range of responses – from whole school cross curricular projects, to entries from students studying new qualifications such as the Creative and Media Diploma. The event also marks the start of British Tourism Week so this is a great way of engaging Travel and Tourism students with an innovative and inspiring event.
What is Illuminating Hadrian’s Wall?
Illuminating Hadrian’s Wall will create a spectacular line of light from coast to coast. This once in a lifetime event will take place on Saturday 13 March 2010 and will follow the route of the 84 mile long Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail. Around 500 individual points of light placed at 250 metre intervals will be used to light up the Wall. A camera crew will film the line of light as it makes it way from coast to coast and the pictures will be captured and broadcast to celebrate this historic event. So why not inspire your students to get involved in Illuminating Hadrian’s Wall and encourage them to produce their own creative response to this once in a lifetime event?
